Who is responsible for your data

Expat Blueprint is published and the workbooks are sold by Loulou Entertainment, trading as Expat Blueprint, organisation number SE840128021201, Fatbursgrunnsgata 6, 118 28 Stockholm, Sweden.Loulou Entertainment is the data controller for any personal information collected through this website or in connection with a workbook purchase.

Information we collect

When you browse the site we automatically collect the kind of technical information most websites receive: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you visit, and the time you spend on them. This helps us understand which articles are useful and where the site breaks.

When you sign up for the newsletter we collect your email address so we can send you new essays and updates. When you buy a workbook we collect your email address, the product you chose, the payment reference from Stripe, and the time you confirmed that you wanted immediate delivery. We do not collect or store your card number, bank details or billing address; Stripe handles the payment and keeps that information on their side.

When you contact us by email we keep the address and the content of the message so we can reply and, if necessary, refer back to it later.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to keep the site running, to send you the newsletter you signed up for, to deliver the workbook you bought, to answer your questions, and to fix things when they go wrong. We also look at aggregated browsing patterns to decide which topics deserve more attention.

The legal basis for processing your data is that it is necessary to perform the contract with you when you make a purchase, to take steps before entering that contract, or because you have given your consent, for example by subscribing to the newsletter. For some technical processing, such as fraud prevention and analytics, we rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure and useful website.

Payments and Stripe

Payments are processed by Stripe on our behalf. When you check out, Stripe receives the information needed to complete the transaction and to calculate, collect and remit any applicable sales tax or VAT. Stripe also issues your receipt and handles disputes.

We do not see your full card number or banking details. We do receive a payment reference and your email address so we can match the order to the delivery. Stripe's own privacy policy explains how they handle payment data.

How workbook delivery works

After a successful payment we generate a personal download link and send it to the email address you used at checkout. The link is tied to your order and stays active for thirty days. We also create a secure access token that lets you return to the download page if you lose the email.

Every delivered PDF is watermarked with your email address and a copyright notice so that unauthorised sharing can be traced back to the original purchase. This is part of how we protect the work and your licence to use it.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember whether you have accepted or rejected the cookie banner, to keep you signed in if you use an account feature, and to understand how readers move through the site. Some of this is done through analytics services that process data on our behalf.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to tell you when a cookie is being sent. If you do that, some parts of the site may not work as intended, but you will still be able to read the articles.

Advertising

We may display advertisements from third-party networks, including Google AdSense, on some pages. Those networks may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads they believe are relevant to you.

Data retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Order records, including your email address and the product you bought, are kept for as long as necessary to handle support requests, disputes, tax obligations and legal claims.

Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or until the list becomes inactive. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form and individual identifiers are removed where possible.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable format. You may also object to certain processing, such as direct marketing, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Payment information is handled by Stripe under industry-standard security practices. Workbook files are stored in a protected bucket and are only delivered through signed, time- limited links.

Third-party links

The site contains links to external websites, including affiliate partners, advertisers and official government sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies before you submit any personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the site after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
