Glossary
Every category on this site eventually collides with the same handful of concepts. Tax residency changes what a working article can honestly claim. A digital nomad visa reshapes what housing is actually available. The idea of domicile — distinct from residence, distinct from citizenship, and frequently misunderstood as either — quietly determines which country's rules follow you home.
These entries are not definitions in the dictionary sense. They are the version of each concept that would be useful to someone reading a country hub and running into the term for the third time, wanting the nuance rather than the tidy one-liner. Where a term behaves differently across jurisdictions, the entry says so. Where the accepted definition is contested or has aged badly, the entry says that too.
The glossary is meant to be read horizontally — followed from a country page, held next to a comparison, returned to when a piece of official guidance uses a word you thought you understood. It grows slowly. New entries appear only when the same term has come up in enough correspondence to suggest the definition is genuinely missing.
